Roof Replacement Photo Album: Asphalt Shingle Damage in Port Chester, NY
The owner of this quarter-acre, 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom century-old property contacted Double R A Construction to assess concerns about an aging roof. From a distance, major discoloration and visible shingle damage made it clear something needed to be done.
Our trusted roofing experts arrived on site and provided a free estimate. After walking the roof, we confirmed the surface was in poor condition. Due to the age and overall appearance, it was immediately apparent that we’d need to remove the disfigured shingles, inspect the decking and underlayment, and determine whether a full roof replacement would be necessary—or if general repairs could suffice.
The next step in our process is to go into the attic and inspect for water damage or signs of rot. If moisture is present, it could open up a whole new set of issues. The extent and duration of the moisture exposure will be critical in deciding our approach. Should we find that the beams or decking have been compromised by water or mold, we could be facing a complete rebuild of the roof and its framework.
